About the Role The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President
(AVP) of Medical Staff Services to oversee the day-to-day
operations of the medical staff, providing leadership to the
provider credentialing and peer review teams. The successful
candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination
of a large number of practitioner roles, as well as the oversight
of various medical staff processes, including the Medical Executive
Committee, corrective action support, and fair hearing processes.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can foster a positive work
environment and is adept at implementing and managing quality
improvement and performance initiatives. The AVP will also be
tasked with ensuring compliance with regulatory laws and will serve
as a liaison for any medico-legal needs.Applicants for the AVP
position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's
preferred) and a minimum of 10 years' related experience. A CPMSM
certification is also preferred. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in medical staff services management, with a
focus on quality improvement and a commitment to the values of the
healthcare industry. The role demands a leader who is proactive,
and strategic, and can effectively manage departmental financial
initiatives. The AVP will be instrumental in the development and
implementation of various evaluation processes for medical
practitioners, and must be well-versed in the standards set by
regulatory bodies such as the State, CMS, FDA, and The Joint
